The topic of my podcast is, “What benefits and limitations are involved in using digital media to facilitate student learning and engagement?”. Digital media is a trendy topic in today’s society. In my podcast, I’ll use actual examples and put my view. This topic is the first podcast that I make, so it’s a big challenge for me.
My podcast consists of four parts. First, I quote the definition of digital media. Digital media is any media that rely on electronic devices to create, distribute, view, and store. Secondly, I talk about the benefits of digital media to promote students’ learning. For example, digital media can help students communicate with teachers at any time and discuss doubts with classmates. Then I describe the limitations and disadvantages of digital media among students. Because so far, many schools have banned students from carrying mobile phones into the class, so it’s the limits of students’ use of digital media. Using digital media in school is not an excellent way to study certainly. Students without self-control will be addicted to the Internet, which has a significant impact on students’ vision problems. I have collected real cases to support these two aspects. Finally, I state my view according to the facts collected, and students can use digital media outside the school to promote learning, and only pay attention to the learning materials provided by teachers in the school. Finding these examples is the most challenging part. On the Internet, we can find a lot of articles about digital media. The text of these materials often makes the audience feel that there is no credibility, and I need to provide real examples to support my points of view. Only in this way can make the audience think and analyze the problem through examples. I need to delete and select information because only choosing the most appropriate cases can persuade the listeners.
Before the official recording, I practiced the script repeatedly to avoid oral mistakes. I record with headphones to make my voice clearer. After recording, I checked the sound quality repeatedly to ensure my audio quality. At the beginning and end of my podcast, there is a piece of music with a happy melody. Adding music is to make podcasts more exciting and attract audiences to continue listening to my podcasts. If the music I choose is not attractive, the viewer may give up listening to the podcast. The things that students need to think about are the advantages and disadvantages of digital media. I hope more people can change their attitude towards digital media. Use reasonably and effectively. Music is download from Soundcloud. After this podcasting, I know that I cannot use music at will. Before using it, I need to confirm whether it is legal and approved by the author. In the process of making podcasts, I met with difficulties. I realized the script I write that I cannot finish to speech in my podcast because I only have about 5 minutes to tell. I need to simplify my statements, and then I need to delete unimportant sentences. I record with my mobile phone firstly, then transfer it to audacity for editing.
After the leaning of this unit, I learned to make podcasts, gained the relevant basic knowledge. This assignment can practice my English skills, and it can help me improve my verbal ability and writing ability. Although this assignment is a challenge for me, I finished my first podcast after hard work and constant attempts. I think I still need to improve. I’m willing to learn more about podcasting.

In a nutshell, online identity is Internet user establishes in online communities and websites. Identity is one of the most complex constructs as different approaches led to multiplication of its meanings rendering the concept difficult to grasp (Guta & Karolak, 2015, p.116). On the Internet, people can freely construct their desired social identity, including gender, nationality, etc. Identity is a fluid construct that is constantly shaped and reshaped by our experiences and interactions as well as social context (Guta & Karolak, 2015, p.116). The same goes for online identities.
Most social media can edit their profilephoto, which can make a first impression on the Internet. When people want to connect and start a conversation to someone or a group of people, photos is their first choice to interact with the person or the group (Marshall 2010, p.42). When people communicate with new netizens on the Internet, profile photo can shorten people’s distance, which is also the key to strangers’ interest in you on the Internet platform. People often show some photos on social platforms, such as dining they eat, group photos with family, and scenery when traveling. These pictures can help users find people who have similar hobbies. This behavior is very popular among young people. All of these can help people build up their network image. Because the content that users want to publish on social media is what they want to present to netizens, or it may be false. They just want to get fans or build their own satisfied social image on the Internet. WeChat is one of the most popular social media in China. The functions of WeChat are also very user-friendly. For example, you can scan QR code for payment, share Moments, etc. Moments is a public platform that can send text or pictures, but only WeChat friends can see it, and friends can praise and comment. If you share a photo that you don’t want to show to some of your friends, you can add restrictions for viewing, and the shared things can be limited. I often share photos of travel and daily life in my Moments, which makes my new friends have a further understanding of me and chat about topics of interest together. Many young people don’t want their parents to see their daily life. For example, about personal feelings, or some complaints they write on the Internet. Young people don’t want their parents worry about their mood, they want to show a positive identity in front of their parents. Young people often share their mood and daily life online in order to get the resonance of their contemporary. Sometimes Moments I send is limited to my family to watch. Facing different people on the Internet, our online identity is different.

The screenshot above is my WeChat Moments. WeChat is very safe, because only my friends can see my Moments. I often published interesting things in the Moments. I don’t need to decorate my photos, because I only publish them to record my life and share with my friends. For example, when I meet a delicious restaurant, I will share it in my Moments at once. When I release it, I will add the location of the restaurant. My friend can taste it if they are interested in it. WeChat is a very popular social media platform in China, even my grandparents also use it. They can call me voice or video, which are free when they have internet.

My name is YI WEN, you can call me Winnie. Nice to meet you .
This is my blog, thank you for following.https://t.co/riekN3NHBT#alm101dc
Compared with WeChat, my Twitter is rarely published, because my friends in China don’t use it and have no fans, I don’t get response when I published in this social media platform. And tweets are for all users and may expose their privacy. Most of the reason I use Twitteris help my study. My major needs to learn how to use it expertly. I also use Instagram, I often post my photos of myself and travelling , and I will decorate the photos before release, such as adding filters, photoshop etc. The action is to attract more fans to follow me.
Different social media platforms have different role plays. When I post in the WeChat, I am real, and relaxed, I can boldly share my traveling and daily life with my friends. Communicating with people on WeChat is the same as in my life. It’s like a communication tool, and I don’t have to restrain myself. On the contrary, in the Instagram, people usually show their unreal daily life and show themselves perfectly, so people usually beautify the photos, attract attention as much as possible and attract more fans.
Online identity isa fluid construct and people use it differently on different social media platforms. When we use social media, we should pay attention to its security and protect our privacy while making friends. Don’t blindly believe in bloggers on social media platforms. They just post one-sided things on the Internet to gain attention and fans.

Because of the development of the Internet, we often use social media to work, make friends, or record our lives. I usually use INS, Facebook, WordPress and Twitter in my daily life. They make my life more meaningful and colourful. They also help my study.
The first thing I choose when creating a personal website is set up my photo with a favourite photo from my mobile album on social networking sites because it would convey my style and make a first impression. For example, people who take cute and interesting pets as their heads are often kind and warm. People who regard scenery as their head portrait often love life. I am used to setting cartoon image as my photo, because it can protect my privacy and reflect my hobbies.
Step two I’ll creative a nickname. I am used to using my real name on social networking sites. If the nickname has been used, I will add my birthday after it. Setting real names is to make it easier for people around me to find and follow me on social platforms.
Finally, I’ll design my profile, I will introduce my hobbies, so that users with the same hobbies can pay attention to each other and understand each other. I will also write about my country and the city I live in, because it can help users better understand me.I’ll also put links to other social networking sites in profiles for easy communication.
Originally, I used twitter to watch foreign entertainment news. Now I also use it to help study. When I was writing Tweetsuse the tag, It can let people from the same organization or team comment. To be honest, releasing WordPressis to complete the tasks included in the assignment, .In my daily life, I am not used to putting my design or project on social platforms, but now I have learned this skill, which is very useful for my future study and work. Publish About mecan show my photos, videos, This website can record my life.
My personal use of social media is to watch real-time news, interact with friends on the Internet, and record the meaningful things in life on the Internet as a souvenir. My major is also related to social media, so I need to practice more professional skills.

This is my first assignment for making videos, recording videos about myself. Before recording this video, I was very confused about what subject I wanted to shoot. Finally, I decided to shoot my hobby, Play LEGO and I liked collect them, because I wanted to share my hobby with my classmates and teachers. In the video, I told about my hobbies, such as travel, photos, playing Lego and cooking, as well as my career ideal. I want to be an advertising designer and meet advertisements everywhere in my life. I want to design meaningful and interesting advertisements, and this is a highly paid career.
My plan is to introduce myself and add a video of building Lego. It would be too monotonous if all of them were presented in the form of speeches. It takes about 15 hours to complete it. I plan to shoot only the upper body because I can’t see it under the table. I set the scene in my living room, because the living room has a large space and needs a clean wall as the background. If the things behind me are too messy, it will make the picture uncluttered. My composition is centered on me, then flat-shot, put a tripod on the table, find the right angle to start shooting. Delayed shooting is used in the shooting of Lego, because Lego is a complex and long process, which is a 1-2 minute short video, and I can only show it as much as possible. Recording audio is a difficult step. I need to wait until it’s quiet to record it, and it needs to match the mouthshape of my voice in the video. Background music I chose a lively and lively one to make the atmosphere natural and interesting.
I thought it was a simple assignment, but when I started recording, I found many difficulties. When choosing the theme, I have two ideas. One is to record cooking, the other is to record and build Lego. I did not choose cooking because I could not watch the camera most of the time during the recording process. Choosing the Lego theme can shoot my face. The biggest dilemma in the recording process is that I dare not look directly at the camera. It will be embarrassing and shy. It’s my biggest challenge, and I get nervous when I record videos and stop speaking English. So I chose to use tripod to help shoot. Choosing a tripod can not only replace embarrassment, but also record clear pictures, which makes the camera more stable. If someone else helped me record it, it would be more difficult. I also had to overcome the psychological difficulties as much as possible. Secondly, the lighting problem, because at home shooting, the light will be dim, need to try different positions and angles to shoot. Audio is also my focus, because I live near the road, the sound of vehicles and road maintenance make the video sound noisy, so I choose to turn off the original video sound, and record the audio in the final production clip. It takes a long time to build a complete Lego model, so I used time-lapse photography to show more.

You’re going to publish a post today. Don’t worry about how your blog looks. Don’t worry if you haven’t given it a name yet, or you’re feeling overwhelmed. Just click the “New Post” button, and tell us why you’re here.
Why do this?
The post can be short or long, a personal intro to your life or a bloggy mission statement, a manifesto for the future or a simple outline of your the types of things you hope to publish.
To help you get started, here are a few questions:
You’re not locked into any of this; one of the wonderful things about blogs is how they constantly evolve as we learn, grow, and interact with one another — but it’s good to know where and why you started, and articulating your goals may just give you a few other post ideas.
Can’t think how to get started? Just write the first thing that pops into your head. Anne Lamott, author of a book on writing we love, says that you need to give yourself permission to write a “crappy first draft”. Anne makes a great point — just start writing, and worry about editing it later.
When you’re ready to publish, give your post three to five tags that describe your blog’s focus — writing, photography, fiction, parenting, food, cars, movies, sports, whatever. These tags will help others who care about your topics find you in the Reader. Make sure one of the tags is “zerotohero,” so other new bloggers can find you, too.
